Caliban’s beautiful island is colonised by a magician, who imprisons his mother Sycorax in a baobab tree. Caliban calls on his distant cousin Grendel for help. The story owes something to Shakespeare’s The Tempest. But not a lot…

Grendel’s mother gives him a map, to help him find his way from the frozen North to the Magic Island.
